LIS 488 Technology Tutorials

This is a semi-private web page dedicated to my amazing LIS488 students over the years (Technology for Information Professionals at Simmons University). In this assignment they had to teach themselves a new technology and then develop a tutorial to help others get started in their own learning.

As you can see below, my colleagues have taught themselves a huge range of technologies and presented their tutorials in a variety of ways. Many popular technologies have multiple tutorials at different depths depending on the base knowledge of the author and how many authors were working on it. I frequently find myself referring to one of their tutorials for myself or to share with others. I have permission to share these, but if you are one of my students and no longer want your tutorial listed here, please let me know.

The best part of this collection is that all these tutorials were made by people who had just learned their technology for the first time - so the agonies of learning are fresh and they help you avoid pitfalls!
